During the early 1990's membership of the band declined to an all time low. In a desperate attempt to survive it was decided to relocate a few miles down the road to Trimdon, where the majority of the remaining players came from. The community of Trimdon welcomed us with open arms and continue to support us in a variety of ways.

We rehearse at least twice a week at Trimdon Station Community Centre where in 2005, as part of a major refurbishment of the building we converted the former games room into a dedicated band room.

In July 2000 we were awarded £30,000 from the Arts Council of England to purchase new instruments. This allowed us to set up a Junior/Training Band using our old instruments, which now acts as a feeder to the main band. In addition, this group have recently begun studying towards the Associated Board grade exams.

The most recent addition to the band is the Drum Corps who are currently practicing hard to accompany the band into the forthcoming Durham Miners Gala.

The current age range within the band is 8-82 years, with one member clocking up a staggering 72 years in brass banding.

The band represents the villages of Trimdon at contests and competitions both locally and nationally and recently made their debut at the 80th Holme Valley Brass Band Contest.

For the past four years the band has performed under the direction of Andy Homes, who also plays cornet with Black Dyke Band.

Congratulations
The band have won prizes at the Durham County Brass Band Association League contest and the North of England Regional Championships.

Here’s some music kindly recorded for the Trimdon Times for the Christmas period 2006:
